2005 - 2006 years in education system of Sakha Republic are marked by events which directly will affect the further development of national education. Legislative framework was considerably improved: the State assembly (Il Tumen) of Sakha Republic accepted new edition of Law of Sakha Republic On education , on the decision of the Government of Sakha Republic the Basic curriculum for educational institutions of Sakha Republic realizing the programs of the general education was approved. Due to introduction of a regional component in educational programs complex problems on preservation and augmentation of ethno-cultural originality of education content are to be solved.

XIth congress of teachers and pedagogical community of Sakha Republic will go down in history as the forum which posed urgent tasks on making the quality education more available. Processes of involving of a society, civil institutes in managing educational institutions have begun. Strategy of development of education till 2020 and the Concept of the State program of Sakha Republic education development for 2007-2011 were discussed at the congress.

International aspects of education are becoming of greater importance. The international seminar of the Council of Europe Intercultural dialogue through education was carried out in Sakha Republic. The grant of UNESCO Nomadic school was won.
